5th Annual Celebrity Art Auction
Kristoffer Polaha invited his friends to create art as a fundraiser for World Water Day in 2016, and #ArtInAction was born. In 2021 we had our largest group of participants, including Dallas Howard, Scott Haze, Mamoudou Athie, Kristoffer Polaha, Stana Katic, Jill Wagner, Shiri Appleby, Britt Robertson, Jensen Ackles, Rainn Wilson, Austin Basis, Reggie Austin, and Robin Thomas. Between art bids and donations in honor of the actors, the auction raised $32,781.63!

Actor Kristoffer Polaha invited his acting friends to create paintings as a fundraiser for World Water Day in 2016. We held an online auction of the artworks created by Austin Basis, Christopher Backus, Kristoffer Polaha, Mira Sorvino, Paul Sorvino, Rainn Wilson, Shiri Appleby, and Stana Katic. The first event raised over $10,000! And thus, #ArtInAction has become an annual event in honor of World Water Day.
Since then, many celebrities have returned (and more than once), plus Melora Walters and Michael Rosenbaum joined in the fun. In 2020 we didn't have an auction because of Covid-19. |
polaha service award
This award is for people who give their time, service, and finances to social causes for the greater good, not because it's a job. The award honors Kristoffer Polaha, who didn't need to reply to our tweet in 2015 but did and wanted to use his platform to help us with our goals. He and his actor friends put art into action and helped raise almost $50,000 in 5 years.
